Haunting Memories Come Alive

Brian was pacing like a caged panther in his loft. He was waiting for Jennifer Taylor to bring the final documents he needed to sign so she could sell his loft. He was nervous and excited at the same time. He was about to close a chapter of his life and begin a new one in a different place. He was moving from glorious Pittsburgh to New Orleans. Brian had just bought one of the most popular ad agencies that was still a family business type of agency. The name of the agency was "Creole Art" and had been owned by Carl Adams, but now it belonged to him.

The old man had died a couple of months ago and his son didn't want anything to do with the agency. Brian had been a very successful ad executive over the years but for some reason the owners of the agencies where he had worked had always managed to fuck him over a promised partnership. After he heard that Carl Adams had died and his son had the agency for sale, he didn't hesitate much and went for it.

Now here he was; he had put his whole life on the line. He was about to leave his most comfortable life and expensive lifestyle to start a new agency that was very hot and came with many clients, but still it was the first time he would be on his own. He knew it wouldn't take him long before he would be on top of the success wave, but there is always a feeling of doubt whenever new adventures start in anyone's life.

Finally Brian was brought out of his thoughts by a knock at the door.

"Hey Jen! Did you bring the documents?"

"Yes Brian, I did and as a matter of fact I have a buyer already, so how about that!"

"I heard you were the best damn real estate agent but I never thought you were that good Jen." Brian smiled at the blond beauty in front of him. Jennifer Taylor was a nice woman, polite and well educated. Well, she was the perfect example of a WASP woman.

When Brian had first met Jennifer through Debbie Novotny, his surrogate mother, he had thought Jennifer was a joke. She had no place in Debbie's home or on Liberty Avenue for that matter. Jennifer was a straight woman married to a homophobic asshole, Craig Taylor, with two children. Well, he had never met Jennifer's son but he had met Molly Taylor. The pre-teen girl had developed a crush on him and after he got to know Jennifer better he struck up a friendship with the little girl and the woman. Jennifer never spoke of her son Justin except to say he was the reason she had become such an activist for gay causes.

Jennifer had been divorced for almost two years. Craig had filed for divorced apparently when their kid Justin Taylor had run away from home with his art teacher. Jennifer had looked for her son with no results and she finally had become an advocate for gay causes. That was how she and Debbie met each other. Jennifer had said that maybe one day she would find her son and be able to understand him better.

"I don't believe you are finally selling the place Brian. I always said your place was very glamorous." Jennifer said as she asked Brian to sign the documents.

"Yeah! Well you know me - one day here the next, no one knows."

Jennifer smiled as she kept pointing out the places where he was supposed to sign.

"Brian have you seen your new home?"

"Yes, Jennifer you are such a savior. I went last week and the place is great. Close to Bourbon Street and a few blocks away from the agency. It'll work out perfectly, thanks again Jen."

"You know me Brian - anything for my son-in-law!"

Both Brian and Jennifer began to laugh; Jennifer was always joking about how Brian would end up being her son-in-law someday.

"When are you and Molly planning to come and visit me in New Orleans?"

"Well Brian, you are coming back here for Thanksgiving, right?"

"Yeah! Otherwise I would never hear the end of it from Debbie."

"We'll see you then but for Christmas we have to go to my parents, and Molly is spending New Year's with Craig."

"Where are you going to spend New Year's Jennifer?"

"I'll stay at my parents but Molly and I could probably visit in February or March. Better yet Brian, find out for sure when Mardi Gras is and we'll visit you then. I always wanted to go to Mardi Gras and party with the big boys."

"Jennifer, since when did you become such a party girl?"

"Since I met the King of Liberty Avenue!"

Both laughed and Jennifer picked up the documents as she added, "How are Lindsay and Melanie taking the move?"

"Lindsay is a basket case, she hates it and Melanie well, the bitch hasn't stopped giving me a guilt trip over how I'm abandoning my only child and shit."

Jennifer seemed to look sad then said, "Just make sure you keep in close contact with Gus, Brian. You might not think it's important but he can already feel right if he is loved or not."

Brian gave Jennifer a wary look; he could relate to Jennifer. He hadn't lost a child like she did, but the only thing that put a damper on his otherwise perfect life was the fact that he would be miles away from his son. He wondered how much he would miss Gus? The baby was almost a year old and Brian had fallen in love with him the moment he held him in his hands.

A year later, Brian was finishing a deal with a very important account. Leo Brown was now his newest and most important client yet. Brian had worked like a demon making his company strong, with the help of his ever trusty assistant Cynthia. The girl had moved from Pittsburgh to New Orleans with him, and she had proven to be a great asset. Both had worked hard to make the company very profitable against all the odds. Brian had finished the first year with very good profits. It was true that when he took over "Creole Art" the company was in good standing but he had made the company stronger in just a year of managing it, plus he had increased the clientele to also cater to the homosexual market. That was where he had gotten the greatest increase in sales and a great profit for the end of the fiscal year.

Brian was mentally congratulating himself and Cynthia when he saw a familiar face sitting across him just a few tables away. A few minutes ago he had enjoyed a lunch meeting with Leo Brown. Mr. Brown had come all the way from Chicago when a friend of his referred him to Brian. Leo was visiting his best friend in New Orleans and since his friend had insisted, he had decided to have a talk with Brian before heading back to Chicago. Now the lunch meeting was over and Brian had stayed, finishing his meal and basking in the glow of his brilliance.

Brian kept trying to remember who the man reminded him of when he saw one of his clients sit at the man's table.

"Brian, Brian!" His client kept calling him so Brian decided to go to the table and greet his client, and at the same time put a name to the face that was hard to remember.

"Hello Mr. Anderson!"

"Hello Brian, I want you to meet a good friend of mine and the owner of the best club for men - especially homos like us. Brian, this is Mr. Wyatt Bouvier. Wyatt, Mr. Brian Kinney, he is a genius in the advertising business."

The man smiled as he was introduced to Brian. Wyatt felt his heart shatter into a million pieces. Once more he saw the man of his dreams look at him with aloofness and the detachment he remembered. The man had no clue as to who he was. Wyatt smiled as he shook Brian's hand and felt his whole body tremble with all the emotions those hazel eyes had always invoked in him.

After Brian shared a few drinks with the two men, he excused himself and left after Mr. Anderson had made him promise that one of these days he would accompany him to "The Quoin" and indulge in the pleasures the club offered.

Wyatt finally arrived at the club and as he was racing towards his office he spoke to the host. "Where is Justin?"

"He is with a client Mr. Bouvier."

"Have him come to my office as soon as he is finished and cancel any of his appointments for the day."

Wyatt walked into his office and dropped in his chair as he grabbed a bottle of bourbon, his favorite drink whenever he was in one of his moods.

A while later, Justin marched into the office.

"What the hell is this Wyatt? You canceled three appointments - do you realize how much money I'm losing here?"

Justin entered the office angrily, noticing the state his boss was in.

"Shut the fuck up Justin! I know how much money you are losing, remember I'm losing fifty-five percent too."

"So what's up boss? What the hell happened to you? It isn't that time of the year yet so why are you drunk?"

"I saw him Justin. I saw him."

Justin looked at his boss like what the fuck are you talking about? Wyatt only asked Justin for another bottle of bourbon. He could barely stand. Justin went to the bar that Wyatt had in his office, grabbed another bottle and handed it to him.

"Who the hell did you see Wyatt? What the fuck are you talking about?"

Wyatt looked at Justin with pleading eyes as he replied. "Brian. I saw Brian Kinney today and what's worse - the fucking bastard doesn't even remember me!" Wyatt took a long drink from the bottle.

"Oh! The wonderful hazel-eyed teen that broke your tiny little heart. Wyatt grow up! So you got your heart broken once. And you saw him again today and the asshole didn't remember who the hell you were, so move on Wyatt. He is not the only, or last fucking homo on the face of the Earth."

"Justin what the fuck happened to you kid! Since when did you become so bitter and cold?"

"Since I decided that love doesn't exist and it's a waste of time to go looking for 'happily ever after'. I know, I've been there Wyatt. So get over it and move on. The way I see it Wyatt you have two options: one you move on and have the best in life, or two you become stuck in your pathetic life with your pathetic fantasies and die. If you catch my meaning. Now let's go and you will be a good boy. You are going to sleep it off then tomorrow we will go over this fucking vision of yours and we, or rather you, will begin to formulate a plan to get rid of his fucking memory. Or you will die waiting for the impossible."

At this Wyatt couldn't help but wonder when the sweet, shy Justin had become this bitter cold-hearted young man. He knew he might be pathetic for letting Brian's memory get to him but he also knew that it was better to have loved than never to have experienced such emotion. He allowed Justin to help him to his apartment and he tomorrow he would see how he could help this beautiful blond get his heart again. Justin was his Angel Heart, but right now was more of a heartless angel.

Brian arrived at his new apartment and began to get comfortable. He returned a couple of phone calls. Cynthia had left a message telling him he had an early meeting tomorrow with the people from Ionic Optics. They were ready to move from Vanguard and sign with Brian. Ionic Optics was one of the companies Brian had signed for Vanguard, the last company he had worked for before he became his own boss. Due to the contract he had worked out with Vanguard, they couldn't follow Brian to his new company right away. But that contract had expired now and they were ready to negotiate with him.

He had a phone call from Lindsay saying she would come to visit in a week or so and another one from Molly asking him not to forget about her debut in the school play, and Jennifer reminding him that she had already spoken to Cynthia to clear his calendar for that day.

Brian went to get a glass of Jim Beam while looking over the boards he had just whipped up for Leo Brown when something flashed in his head and he finally remembered the name and the face that went with it.

"Shit! Fuck! How could I have forgotten him!" Brian swore out loud.

The days went by Brian was really busy with all the new accounts that he had just landed. He was seriously thinking of taking on two or more people to help him with the overload of work. Cynthia had begun the process of hiring new employees and expanding the company to accommodate the demanding workload that Brian had created. Cynthia was Brian's senior ad executive now.

It was almost a week later that Brian had seen his ex-college teacher Mr. Wyatt Bouvier. He had meant to call him to apologize for his oversight but things had been really hectic for him at the agency. He was looking at the phone trying to come up with a way to talk to the man who at one point had meant something to Brian, or not, or whatever. Brian had liked his professor but back then he wasn't half the man he was now. Back in those days, he cared only about getting his dick sucked or having it up someone's ass. He didn't really care for relationships or romance or any of the bullshit that came with that. But Wyatt had been a romantic and Brian had felt sorry for the older man even though he didn't believe in being sorry either.

Now things had changed. He had met Jennifer and Molly, and he had Gus; his life wasn't the same any more so he felt he had to apologize to the man. And maybe try to begin new friendships. He missed the old gang from Pittsburgh. He had been so caught up with work since he came to New Orleans that only now did he think about it. He had not been to any of the bar scenes or the gay clubs in the city - he hadn't been out anywhere at all. Well except on the few occasions that Jennifer and Molly had come to visit, but then again that didn't count cause whatever he had done with the ladies was not really homo-related.

Brian sighed; why did life have to be so fucking complicated. He thought of a better way to apologize to his ex-professor.

Justin was coming into Wyatt's office when he saw the striking brunette sitting comfortably in front of his boss. Wyatt seemed a nervous wreck and he asked briskly,

"What is it Angel?"

At this Justin smiled his most beautiful smile for the first time in a long time as he eyed the brunette from head to toe and replied, "I'm not Angel today. I'm Biker Boy."

Wyatt just looked at him with pleading eyes. It was obvious the man was a basket case.

"Anyway, I have this client that wants to purchase one of my paintings but he insists that the charge be made to his membership account - is that okay with you?"

"Who is the client?"

"Mr. Lexington."

Justin answered as he turned to look at the hazel-eyed man that obviously had been checking him out. He was glad that today he was 'Biker Boy' because his black leather outfit made him look strikingly sexy. The older men always went wild with this ensemble. He was wearing skin tight black leather pants. The pants were low cut at the waist and you could almost see the crack of his well-rounded perfectly shaped bubble butt. He always topped the outfit with a short black leather vest. He had two leather bands around his left and right wrist and fabulous black leather boots that sported wonderful silver artwork.

Wyatt always told him that the outfit intensified the blue of his eyes, that was the main reason he looked so damn sexy, but Justin always claimed it was his perfect ass.

"Why did no one tell me that Mr. Lexington was here?"

Wyatt now switched to business mode. He was glad because right now he couldn't deal with the rainbow of emotions that Brian Kinney had brought out in him.

At this Brian took his cue - it was time for him to leave.

"Well Wyatt, it was nice seeing you again. I'll be seeing you on Friday. Don't forget."

Brian shook the man's hand and took just one more look at the blond in front of him. God the boy was beautiful but what had struck Brian wasn't the physical beauty of the blond boy but his stunning smile. The smile reminded him of someone but he just couldn't pinpoint who. He smirked at the boy and left.

At this Wyatt dropped to his chair. All this time he had been standing next to the mini- bar trying very hard not to lose the bit of control he had over his emotions.

"Jesus! Wyatt look at you. You are trembling like a fucking addict without his daily fix."

"Shut the fuck up Justin! And help me to calm down. I need to talk to Mr. Lexington then we have a lot to catch up on."

"I guess you want me to cancel my appointments?"

"Smart kid!"

"Might as well, my next was none other than the fucking Mr. Bruce and I hate the bastard. The guy tips great but gag! His breath smells like a latrine."

Wyatt went to meet with Mr. Lexington and after the two men exchanged amicable words the man left the building with his new painting. Wyatt came back to his office where Justin was out of his working clothes now and sitting down on the couch with a bottle of bourbon sitting next to him. He was dressed in his comfy jeans, t-shirt and tennis shoes. He loved sitting Indian-style, and was waiting for his boss's drama princess display of emotions.

"So, it's safe to assume that was the legendary Brian Kinney?"

Wyatt sat next to Justin, opened the bottle and took a drink before answering.

"Isn't he a vision, I can believe that I'm fucking forty-three years old and he makes me feel like a fucking teenager."

Justin only rolled his eyes as he remarked, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - if you catch my meaning."

At this Wyatt only laughed, he loved when Justin tried to be funny for him.

"Make sure Adrian cancels all your appointments for Friday."

"What's going on Friday?"

Justin had heard Brian tell his boss not to forget about their appointment.

"We are having lunch with Mr. Kinney."

"We? Excuse me but I have better things to do than waste my time watching you go totally nuts over the fucking asshole."

"Like what?"

"Like making money, and have we forgot all about our plan to get rid of the fucking ghost of Brian Kinney?"

"Oh that, Justin. Well if it's about money I can take care of that. In any case you are fucking going with me because I'm not about to meet Mr. Kinney's better half looking like a fucking loser."

"Whaaaaaaaat? I thought you told me the fucking asshole didn't believe in relationships!"

"Well, apparently a lot has changed with him in the past few years. Any way, he asked me to join him for lunch because he wanted to introduce me to the man that had changed his life."

"Why do you have to go? To get your heart broken again?"

"No. Justin, maybe if I see the man who stole Brian Kinney's heart I'll be able to move on with my own life."

Justin looked at his boss then smiled. He decided to take a sip of the bourbon. Justin never drank, he had sworn that he would never drink but today was a special day and a little sip wouldn't hurt.

***

Friday afternoon.

"What the hell is that Justin?"

"My best Sunday clothes."

"No way are we meeting Brian with you dressed like that."

"What's wrong with my clothes?"

"What's wrong - are you fucking nuts? Did you see the way Brian was dressed when he was here? He is a fucking designer queen."

"I don't own any Armani or Hugo Boss or whatever the fuck designer is in vogue. So be glad that I am dressed in khakis because I'd rather be wearing jeans and a t-shirt."

"Fuck! Lets go, I'm calling my friend Pierre. He will have something in your size for you to wear."

"I'm not fucking paying for any designer clothes Wyatt!"

"I'm not taking you to lunch dressed like that."

"Then I'm not going anywhere!"

"Fuck Justin! I'll pay for the fucking clothes but you are going and I'm not taking you dressed like that!"

"Whatever! But not a cent from my money."

"Fine!"

Finally Wyatt and Justin arrived at the French restaurant were they were suppose to meet with Brian. Brian was already sitting at his reserved table when he spotted the two men. Brian's cock twitched when he saw the blond vision walking his way. Justin looked fucking gorgeous dress in Dolce & Gabbana. The blond was wearing black slacks with a black leather belt, a midnight blue long-sleeved silk shirt with silver cuffs - open to reveal a little bit of the ivory silk chest - and a black sport jacket unbuttoned. His blond hair was a little longer, almost covering his beautiful blue eyes but not quite. His eyes sparkled with such an intensity and passion that Brian felt his whole body quiver with emotion. He could see himself getting lost for a man like him.

Justin on the other hand, looked at Brian with an artistic eye. He had to be honest and admitted to himself that the man was beautiful. If it wasn't because he had sworn off gorgeous older men, Justin could see himself going to the gates of hell for a man like this. Brian was dressed as usual in Armani - black suit, a red silk shirt and a beautiful tie that was a swirl of colors contrasting beautifully with the whole ensemble. His auburn hair sported a mussed look and his hazel eyes had a hint of sparkling gold. Justin didn't miss the lust in the hazel eyes. All men were the same - give them a nice tight blond ass and they would fall on their faces.

Wyatt was dressed in conservative Hugo Boss gray slacks, a soft olive green silk shirt and a softer shade of green tie with no jacket. All of the men sat after they greeted each other. Brian didn't learn Justin's name because throughout the whole meal Wyatt kept calling Justin Angel and Brian didn't feel he should ask about the boy's real name - maybe it was a trade thing.

"So Brian, where is your man? I'm dying to meet him."

Justin only smirked. He knew his boss was literally dying to meet him. Brian offered his mysterious half-smile as he answered, "His mother should be dropping him off in awhile. I'm ... There he is - my pride and joy."

At this a blond woman accompanied by a brunette stopped at their table.

"Hey Brian, we got lost and I couldn't find the restaurant. It seems there are two of them but one is located on the east side and the other on the west side of town. And I forgot which one you told me."

Brian smiled and went on to introduce the newcomers to the group.

"Lindsay, do you remember Mr. Wyatt Bouvier?"

"Oh yes, he was your business teacher back when we were freshmen at Penn University."

"Wyatt, this is my friend and the mother of my baby boy Gus, Lindsay Peterson. And her life-partner Melanie Marcus."

"Nice meeting you ladies."

"The pleasure is ours Mr. Bouvier."

"Please call me Wyatt."

Then Melanie focused on the striking blond looking at them with intensely blue eyes.

"Oh! I'm sorry Mel - this is Angel, a friend of Wyatt's."

"Nice meeting you Angel."

"Ms. Marcus, Ms. Peterson."

Justin replied politely; he didn't see the need to correct his name.

Wyatt was more relaxed now as he realized that Brian wasn't talking about a boyfriend, rather his son Gus. The lunch turned into a late evening and soon they found themselves having dinner at another very exclusive family restaurant.

"You know something Angel, you remind me of someone. A good friend of ours, especially of Brian's." Mel added as she was finishing the last bite of her cheesecake.

Then Brian added, "Yes Angel, I do know you remind me of someone but I can't put my finger on it."

"Who?" Lindsay asked as she began to get Gus ready in his stroller, the baby was ready for sleep.

"Brian's girfriend." Mel replied as she was getting ready to pay the bill. It was time for them to leave as Gus needed to be go to bed.

"That's right - you look so much like Molly." Brian remarked as it dawned on him where else had he seen a beautiful smile like the one Justin smiled the first time he saw him. He then gestured to the waiter for the bill as the fight over who would pay for dinner began. Finally, Brian was able to get the upper hand and he settled the bill.

Everyone began to say their good-byes. No one noticed the sadness in Justin's eyes after he was reminded of his little sister.

Wyatt and Justin got to the club and Justin excused himself telling Wyatt he wasn't feeling well and he wanted to get some sleep. Wyatt didn't take any notice; he was on a high now. He had found out that Brian wasn't living with anyone, and Brian had changed so much since he last knew him. Then he got lost in his own thoughts; he still loved Brian as he had when he first met the gorgeous hazel-eyed man, but then he also loved Justin. He began to wage a silent war with his own emotions.

Justin was in his room thinking of all the shitty things that had happened to him. He began to think of what ifs as sleep finally took hold of him.

Brian arrived at his apartment with the girls. They had discussed Angel during the ride from the restaurant to the apartment. Lindsay and Melanie didn't miss a thing and they were milking Brian for all he thought of the young boy. Brian had reluctantly admitted that he had thought of the boy more than once and would very much like to get to know him. He had also told them about Justin's current job.

Lindsay said that it didn't matter if Justin was a hustler. If Brian could see himself settling down with someone like him, the heck with what people thought about it. Mel had only said if the kid was clean and wasn't HIV positive, what the heck? He was gorgeous and if she wasn't a lesbian she could go for him. Finally the day was over and everyone was left to their own dreams.
